Course Introduction

This course provides theoretical and practical knowledge on planning and management of search and rescue (SAR) organizations. It equips those involved in SAR operations with the knowledge and skills required to carry out their respective roles effectively and efficiently in an integrated emergency response system.

Course Objective

Provide participants with knowledge of search and rescue management concepts. Develop participants’ knowledge to validate and oversee the implementation of key components of SAR, in compliance with relevant local and international regulations.

Training Methodology

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information and knowledge transfer. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions, and motivate everybody find the right answers. You will also be encouraged to raise your own questions and to share in the development of the right answers using your own analysis and experiences.  Tests of multiple-choice type will be made available on daily basis to examine the effectiveness of delivering the course.
