Course Introduction


This course provides theoretical and practical knowledge on planning and management of search and rescue (SAR) organisations. It equips those involved in SAR operations with the knowledge and skills required to carry out their respective roles effectively and efficiently in an integrated emergency response system.

Course Objective


Provide participants with knowledge of search and rescue management concepts. Develop participants’ knowledge to validate and oversee the implementation of key components of SAR, in compliance with relevant local and international regulations.

Training Methodology


A highly interactive combination of lecture and discussion sessions will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge and experience transfer. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions, and motivate everybody finding the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their own questions and to share developing the right answers using their own analysis and experience.
